The Indianapolis Capitols Return
Lauren Boczek named President and Managing Partner. The 1969 Continental Cup champion is back in the league — and back in Indianapolis.

From the CEO
This week was another one in Indianapolis — meetings with Continental Cup sponsors, infrastructure work for the new Capitols organization, and a growing group of civic and business leaders in the city who are genuinely excited about what we are building. Indianapolis keeps proving that it is the right home for this league.
And the reason for today's issue: the Indianapolis Capitols are back. The 1969 Continental Cup champion is officially a 2027 CoFL member club, and Lauren Boczek is the club's President and Managing Partner.

Lauren brings nearly two decades in collegiate athletics, broadcasting, and marketing to the role. A West Virginia native and West Virginia University graduate in Public Relations and Political Science, she spent 17 seasons as arena public address announcer for WVU Women's Basketball, and has served as PA announcer and in-game host for WVU volleyball, gymnastics, and baseball.
She continues to serve her alma mater on WVU Football game days as Internal Public Address Announcer — the only female to hold that role in Division I college athletics.
Alongside her athletics work, Lauren leads a full-service creative agency serving restaurants, sports bars, retail brands, and medical professionals across marketing strategy, brand development, digital, and traditional media.

Club Home · 2027
Droplight Grand Park — the Capitols' Planned Home
The Capitols will be headquartered in Indianapolis and will play their 2027 home schedule at Droplight Grand Park in Westfield, Indiana — the region's premier multi-field sports campus and the venue anchoring the league's national programming through Central Indiana.
A city that lives and breathes football, on the country's most-decorated youth-to-pro sports campus, with a name that carries a Continental Cup on it — that is the starting point for the Indianapolis Capitols.

Legacy
A Cup Comes Home
In the original Continental Football League of 1965–1969, the Indianapolis Capitols captured the 1969 Continental Cup with a 44–38 sudden-death overtime win over the San Antonio Toros — one of the signature games of that era of professional football. That trophy — this trophy — is the Capitols' inheritance.

The club's return to the modern CoFL puts that legacy back on the field in the market that built it. Under Lauren's leadership, the Capitols will build out ownership, sponsorship, and community partnerships across Central Indiana, and will operate to the CoFL's standards-first, community-first model.

Building the Club
Ownership, Front Office, Head Coach — On the Horizon
Lauren has been working behind the scenes for weeks ahead of today's announcement, and her ownership group is strong. Over the course of August, additional announcements are planned around the club's front-office structure and staffing.
The Capitols are also in the final stages of naming their head coach. That announcement is expected in mid-to-late August as final details are worked out. Coaching and administrative hires will follow through the remainder of the summer.

This Week in Indianapolis
Continental Cup Conversations, Infrastructure, and a City That's Ready
This week in the city was heavy on the Continental Cup — meetings with prospective Cup sponsors, additional infrastructure work for the Capitols organization, and introductions to a growing group of civic and business leaders who are genuinely excited about what the league is building in Central Indiana.
With Michael Schetzel on the ground as Chief of Staff, the Capitols coming online for 2027, and Droplight Grand Park anchoring our programming, the front office is starting to move at the speed a real professional league needs to move.

Coming Up in The Continental
August will bring additional Capitols news — front-office structure, the head-coach announcement, and initial sponsorship partners. Two more ownership groups remain in active evaluation for 2027, and we expect additional expansion news in the weeks ahead.
